GLFP 11期生 ボンディングイベントを実施しました。/ GLFP 11th Cohort‘s Bonding event was held.

9月28日（金）と29日（日）の2日間、GLFP協定校から渡日したばかりのUS学生、アメリカ留学から帰国した早大生、教職員でGLFP 11期生ボンディングイベントを実施しました。US学生と早大生にとって初めての顔合わせとなるこのイベントは、今後1年間学びを共にするためのチームビルディングが目的です。
A GLFP 11th Cohort Bonding Event took place for two days on September 28th (Saturday) and 29th (Sunday) with the participation of incoming US students from GLFP partner universities who had just arrived in Japan, Waseda university students who had returned after studying in the US, faculty, and staff. This event was first meetup between US and Waseda students, aiming at team building among cohorts who will be studying together for the next one year.
1日目は早稲田キャンパス内にて事務局によるオリエンテーション、早大生によるキャンパスツアー、ウェルカムランチ、GLFP Forum担当教員の田辺寿一郎先生によるキックオフレクチャーを行いました。
The first day consisted of an orientation session by GLFP office, a campus tour by Waseda students, a welcome lunch, and a kick-off lecture by GLFP Forum faculty member, Assistant Prof. Juichiro Tanabe.
今年度は自己紹介の後に、「より仲間のことを知り、打ち解けられるように」と早大生が提案した「共通点探しゲーム」を実施。5人1グループになり、5分間でどれだけメンバー間に共通点があるかを紙に書きだし、優勝したチームは何と30個以上の共通点を見つけることができました。短い時間でしたが、各グループが優勝を目指し大変盛り上がりました。
This year, after self-introductions, Waseda students proposed a game called “Find Something in Common” to help all the students get to know each other better and to open up to each other. In groups of five, students had five minutes to write down on paper how much they had in common with each other. The winning team found more than 30 points in common！ Although the time was short, each group had a great time trying to win the game.
2日目は早稲田キャンパスの大隈講堂から観光バスで東京・丸の内へ向かい、2階建てオープントップバスに乗り東京の名所を車窓から楽しみました。その後、浅草へ向かいランチは歴史のある天ぷらのお店で美味しい食事をいただき、留学生にとっては伝統的な日本食文化を知る機会となりました。ランチの後はたい焼き体験。留学生だけでなく早大生も初めての体験で、お互いに協力しながら楽しい時間となりました。最後は本所防災館にて煙体験と地震体験を行い、災害の多い日本で生活を送るうえで、災害から身を守るための知識を学びました。
On the second day, we left Okuma Auditorium, heading for Marunouchi, where we took a double-decker open-top bus and enjoyed the sights of Tokyo from the bus. After that, we headed to Asakusa for lunch at a historical tempura restaurant, where we had a delicious meal, and it was an opportunity for the US students to learn about traditional Japanese food culture. After lunch, we experienced making Taiyaki. It was the first experience not only for US students but also for Waseda students, and they enjoyed cooperating with each other. At the end of the tour, we experienced smoke and earthquake at the Honjo Life Safety Learning Center, where we learned how to protect ourselves from disasters in Japan, where many disasters occur.
この2日間、様々なアクティビティを通して11期生の仲が深まり、今後1年間GLFP生として活動を共にする仲間と良いスタートを切ることができました。
Through the various activities over the two days, the 11th Cohort were able to foster a closer relationship and made a good start to their year together as GLFP students.
