The 8th Annual GLFP Students' Public Presentation was held.
Jul. 22, 2022
We are delighted to announce that the 8th Annual GLFP Students’ Public Presentation was successfully held on July 13 (Wed.). The Public Presentation is carried out as a study progress report for one of the curriculums, “GLFP Forum”. The theme for this academic year was “POST-CONFLICT PEACE BUILDING FOR THE UKRANIAN CRISIS: Exploring multiple aspects of peace”. Presentations focused on post-conflict peace from diversified perspectives in the current uncertain situation, as the Russian invasion of Ukraine heads into its sixth month.
Due to the spread of the COVID-19, members of 8th Annual GLFP Students were forced to cancel their planned one-year study abroad program in the U.S. or switch to an online program. Even more unfortunately, the GLFP curriculum was conducted only with Waseda University students instead of studying together with US students as usual. Despite such extremely difficult circumstances, each member's presentation of the results, the culmination of their studies to date, was heated up with their enthusiasm and commitment.
Since we were able to welcome participants to the first face-to-face event in three years, the venue was full of energy, as well as the simultaneous online streaming allowed even more audiences to attend. It was a rousing event attracted 40 participants, thanks to many comments and questions received during the Q&A session, a lively discussion took place.
