The 7th Annual GLFP Students’ Public Presentation was held.

Jul. 16, 2021

We are happy to announce that the 7th Annual GLFP Students’ Public Presentation was held on July 14 (Wed.). The Public Presentation is carried out as a study progress report for one of the curriculums, “GLFP Forum”. The theme for this academic year was “Sense of loss: Fulfilling post-COVID campus life”. Presentations were focused on the great changes in campus life brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and the “sense of loss” that was born there.

Like other international students, the 7th GLFP Students were also compelled to leave their host university midway through their program because of the spread of infection. After returning to their home country, they participated in classes mainly online, and the GLFP curriculum, which is usually conducted along with US students, was carried out among Waseda students only. In such a situation, 42 Waseda students were interviewed to reveal the “sense of loss” generated amidst the pandemic, as well as what students are seeking from campus life, and suggestions for the coming post-COVID campus life. Based on these findings, 12 members gave presentations for about 1 hour.

Considering recent circumstances, the Public Presentation was held online. However, we were able to make the event interactive through means such as questionnaires that the participants could respond to in real time.Nearly 40 people participated and sent us many comments and questions during the Q&A session.
